The Hotel Burgess was built in 1912 with a 43 room boarding house on the second floor and storefronts on the first floor. in 1976 the building was purchased and the owner converted the 43 rooms into more spacious 19 themed rooms and suites.

History of the building is abundant and includes the stays of many prominent figures including President of the Republic of Korea Syngman Rhee, Dosan Ahn Chang-ho, Roy Rogers, Dale Evans, Willie Mays, Patrick Swayze and many Miss Americas.
